Job Details:

Responsibilities:

Reports all changes, admissions, discharges to government agencies. (Social Security Administration and Nassau Department of Social Services)

Communicates with government agencies on all issues related to benefits for OMH residents.

Provide case management support as indicated to individuals in regards to recertification or acquiring benefits for OASAS residents.

Financial review of potential OMH residents.

Responsible for receiving, review and distribution of OASAS PNA and rent checks. Including all banking related to PNA payments.

Acts as a liaison with house staff on issues regarding the individual's funds, benefits, etc.

Researches all notices of over (under) payment and ensures proper resolution

Reviews individuals' bank balances and communicates with residential staff to ensure balances are below the required resource limits.

Petty cash coding, reconciliation and distribution

Monitors PNA eligibility of OMH residents and communicates monthly to Treasury in regards to payment details.

Reviews aging and addresses issues with outstanding Social Security, room and board, cable accounts

Track all OASAS payments, distributions and returned checks.

Reviews monthly direct deposit reports. Investigates all unusual payments. Communicates with bank or payer to resolve problems

Responsible for recovery of monthly SNAP benefits. Reports recovered amounts and shortfalls to OASAS managers.

Maintains adequate back-ups of computer files in anticipation of audits by OASAS and OMH

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Previous finance/accounting experience required

Posted Salary Range:

USD $28.43 - USD $34.41 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
