The University of California Irvine's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on equity and access for all students in order to achieve the University of California's goal of academic excellence.

The UCI K-16 Career Pathways focus on streamlining systems and best practices to support students transitioning at each step from K-12 to post-secondary education and into the workforce within the education, business, engineering, computer science and health pathways. The K-16 Career Pathways is part of a statewide strategy for strengthening education-to-workforce pathways ensuring that education, vocational, and workforce programs work in partnership to address the income, racial, and gender inequalities in education and employment.

Responsibilities:

Under direction of higher-level K-14 Academic Preparation Specialist, works with assigned institutions and organizations to implement academic preparation programming of moderate scope that support college and career preparation at local high schools, community colleges, and within UCI. Maintains program visibility in schools. Maintains collaborative relationships with K-16 institutions and / or community entities. Maintains relationships with higher education institutions.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $$25.77- $$26.61 (Hourly).

Required:

Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.

Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.

Experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged and academically at-risk students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.

Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts.

Demonstrated ability and willingness to present/speak before a large group in-person and online.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

1-3 years Experience working for outreach efforts in a university setting.

Preferred:

Bilingual Spanish/English language skills.

Special Conditions:

Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple locations/school sites in one day.
