Position Summary:

Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment

Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities

Responsible for following through on projects assigned

Cleans equipment by using hot water hoses and/or high pressure soap hoses with temperatures up to 160 degrees

Lifts, carry, push or pull parts or equipment with weights up to 100 pounds or more

Climb ladders to clean top of equipment, walls, overheads, ceilings, etc.

Possible forklift/palletjack/manlift licensed for certain areas

Tearing equipment down and assisting production to put line back together

Works with soaps and other cleaning compounds, some toxic if not handled correctly

Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees

Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company

Time sensitive work. Must work at a reasonable pace to ensure area is completed in a timely manner.

Following the 7 Steps of Sanitation. Area/task completed will be pre-opted by lead/supervisor and member of QA to ensure area was cleaned to the highest standards.

Employee Safety Responsibilities:

Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay

Use proper lifting techniques

Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)

Use personal assistance (buddy)

Use handrails

Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.

Position Qualifications:

Prefer High School Diploma/GED

May require a forklift/palletjack certification

Ability to communicate effectively
