Pay Rate: Negotiable, based on experience

Position Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

Here’s what to expect as a Senior Accountant:

Ensure the preparation of the monthly departmental Income Statement Reports, and reconciling to the accounting software and agency reporting.

Review and post transactional journal entries.

Assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Controller in the preparation of the operating budget, County budgets, grant budgets, and other reports as requested.

Develop and implement new policies and/or procedures within the functional area to support the continuous improvement of operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.

Perform complex programmatic analysis and evaluation of financial data and reports, and prepare correcting adjustments and entries as needed.

Ensure team and individual support of external and internal regulatory compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines. Set clear operating standards for regulatory compliance.

Develop processes and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the fiscal department.

Assist with the development and documentation of procedures and protocols that improve and maximize efficiency and internal control.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirement as a Senior Accountant:

Bachelor’s degree within a related discipline expected and 5 to 7 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline

Or Master’s degree within a related discipline and 2 to 5 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline.

Previous experience with accounting in the non-profit sector

Experience with Financial Statement preparation analysis and reporting

A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience

Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection

Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

Preferred, but not required:

Knowledge of Pennsylvania funding waivers

Experience with MIP accounting software

Experience with Pennsylvania Medicaid Billing Systems (ie. Promise, HCSIS)
