Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
West London (Healthcare Site)
£45,000 per annum
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a healthcare site in West London. The role involves both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine and preventative mechanical maintenance tasks across the site in line with the scheduled maintenance plans.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and plumbing systems.
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, ensuring minimum downtime and disruptions within the healthcare environment.
* Conduct inspections, testing, and servicing of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant standards.
* Carry out risk assessments, ensure appropriate safety measures are in place, and maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
* Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and that required work is completed on time.
* Report any potential issues or improvements needed for mechanical systems to the Facilities Manager.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and infection control protocols.
Key Requirements:
* Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally in a healthcare or similar environment.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and general plumbing.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations relevant to the role, including working with gas, water, and air systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Mechanical F-Gas Certification (desirable but not essential).
