About The Contractor:

Reddbrick are recruiting for a regional contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects. Currently, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and manage projects throughout the East Midlands region, with experience of commercial builds, Education and Healthcare.

Quantity Surveyor Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project team, responsible for managing the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

* Conducting cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans

* Conducting the subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms.

* Monitoring project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures

* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management

* Collaborating with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions

* Managing the preparation and submittal of monthly reports on project financial performance

* Conducting cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements

* The role will involve general Quantity Surveyor duties but will not be limited to these duties alone.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field

* A strong understanding of forms of construction contracts.

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

* A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

* Experience of commercial builds and taking responsibility for projects up to the value of £5m
