Abatec is assisting their client – a tier-one contractor – with the recruitment of a freelance Health & Safety Advisor for a major civil engineering project in Birmingham.

Our client is currently embarking on a once-in-generational civil engineering project and requires a H&S Advisor with previous experience in a similar position for civil engineering and tunneling projects.

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will:

* Support and provide information to the site ensuring compliance with all requirements in the construction plans.

* Support investigations of incidents including close calls and near misses on site.

* Identifying training needs

* Assist in the production of Health and Safety plans, procedures, and associated documentation and check Compliance.

Our client is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor with:

* Sound Knowledge of Civil Engineering/Construction Methods

* Tunnelling experience

* Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety or previous experience in a similar role

* Problem-solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

* Experience working on Civil Engineering/Construction sites.

Salary/Benefits:

* £400 - £450 PAYE
