Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with an exceptional SEND School in Wakefield, currently seeking a passionate and experienced SCERTS Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs, using the SCERTS framework to support communication, emotional regulation, and transactional support.

About the Role: As a SCERTS Teacher, you will be working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, particularly those with autism and communication difficulties. Your role will focus on the implementation of the SCERTS model, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

You will:

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual needs using the SCERTS framework
Develop and implement personalised learning programmes to support pupils' communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's education
Monitor and assess pupil progress, making adjustments to their educational plans as needed
Engage with parents and carers to support their child's development both in school and at homeThe Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a qualified teacher with:

Proven experience working with SEND pupils, particularly using the SCERTS approach
Strong understanding of autism, communication strategies, and emotional regulation techniques
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
