Swift Placements are working closely with a Freight Forwarding business based in Selby who are currently looking to recruit for a European Operations Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various operational activities across multiple countries in Europe. This role ensures that the operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The coordinator will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage logistics, and support regional operations to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

Full Time Permanent position

Monday to Friday

Hours: 08:00- 17:30pm

Salary on offer: Circa £31,000- £35,000 Neg DOE

Location: Selby

Positive team environment working in a brand-new office

28 days including statutory bank holidays

Pension scheme

Small friendly team currently consists of 16 employees and has a Turnover of £5 Million.

Duties of the role:

Operational Management:

* Coordinate day-to-day operations across different European locations.

* Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.

* Monitor operational performance and implement improvements.

* Extensive client liaison, building relationships and maximising the potential of the European Road freight client’s business.

* Extensive supplier liaison to develop reliable and cost-effective European services.

* Calculating freight quotations for export and import freight shipments.

* Completing operational administration including job cards and sending booking confirmation to the suppliers.

Logistics and Supply Chain:

* Oversee the supply chain processes, including procurement, transportation, and inventory management.

* Liaise with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

* Manage warehouse operations and ensure optimal stock levels.

* Raising all of the appropriate operational documentation including customs clearance formalities.

* Managing the European road freight consignments in transit through to successful completion and delivery.

* Invoicing out and completing the job files.

Project Coordination:

* Support the planning and execution of regional projects.

* Track project progress and report on milestones and deliverables.

* Coordinate resources and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Skills and experience required:

* A minimum of 3 years’ freight forwarding experience in European Road Freight.

* An understanding of the post Brexit European customs clearance requirements.

* Confident and clear communication skills.

* Proven success of building customer and supplier relationships.

* Strong negotiating skills.

* Numerate with experience of calculating freight quotations.

* Good IT (Microsoft) skills.
