Position good to know for the Estimator

* Ideal sector experience from:

* Utilities, Residential new build, Social Housing, Highways, Property Services and FM

* Ideally have experience of working with a main contractor on

* Housing refurbishment projects, partnerships and framework agreements

* Several varying levels of Estimator roles are currently being recruited for

Your key duties of the Estimator

* Overseeing tenders up to the value of £2m - £12m

* Support the delivery of the overall business strategy of refurbishment projects

* Oversee the final preparation of tender documentation

* Liaise with internal stakeholders to focus all efforts on successful bidding and pricing to win projects

* Use your knowledge of Best Value and the Audit Commission/executive Service Inspection to add value to bids and projects

* Access and advise on risk to internal stakeholders

* Create statistical data for pricing/bid analysis, interpretation and explanation of data

* Ensure tender programmes and specific methods of construction are developed with internal stakeholders

* Overseeing tenders and establish project prices from sub-contractors

* Produce terms for works required for projects and ensure there carried out under the contract

* Monitor and measure worker output, ensuring labour costs per hour and productivity is measured, monitored and improved

Key must have experience you should have as the successful Estimator

* Produce:

* Bills of quantities, pre-priced schedule of rates supplied by the client, prepare tenders from architect’s drawings and develop specifications that should be taken into account

* An understanding of clients’ processes and procedures for bid evaluation

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management within the business

* Ensure tenders are effectively produced - enquiries are sent to supply chain in a timely manner, supply chain quotations are compared accurately and ensure compliance; prelim costs are prepared accurately; risks are identified and escalated; constraints are identified, communicated and managed etc.

Key qualifications and skills you should have as the successful Estimator

* Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent

* Minimum 3 years Estimator or Quantity Surveyor experience

* Must have a Valid UK Driving
