An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Electrician to work for this Nationwide provider of commercial facilities management and building services. This position is for a progressive & dynamic building services company formed in 1990.

Job purpose - To carry out a range of electrical installation works within a variety of sectors across the UK, providing a professional service and working in accordance to current wiring regulations standards.

The successful candidate must be SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualified and flexible to work away when required (Mon-Fri)

Main duties:

* Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

* To assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools

* Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes

* Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components and equipment

* To work at height using the appropriate access equipment i.e mobile tower, steps, scaffolding etc.

* Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects

* To ensure works are completed within the agreed time frames using the resources available

* To manage and support all contracting engineers on site

* To attend all sites requested to you by the Company within the agreed time frames

* To complete all work to the best of your ability and ensure all work is carried in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations standards

* To complete and return all paperwork to the office in the agreed time scales

* To work outside of normal hours including weekends

* To work away from home and/or on nights if required

* To be aware of the budgetary and commercial implications of the work

* To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager/supervisor

Relevant experience/qualifications required for this position:

* To be a fully qualified Electrician (according to JIB status)

* SMSTS qualified

* C&G 238

* 18th Edition

* IPAF

* JIB (CSCS) card

* Minimum 3 years on site experience working on electrical installations

* Experience/ability to read and understand technical drawings in relation to electrical installation projects

* Able to test own electrical installation works

* Working with electronic devices such as android tablets to communicate via E-mail.

* Driving licence and able to competently drive a large van

* Willing and able to travel when required

* Working unsociable hours and working away from home when required
