Are you a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for logistics? Are you looking to join a dynamic team in the distribution industry? Our client, a leading organisation in the field, is seeking a Same-Day Van Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a Same-Day Van Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of our client's fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with current legislation and company policies, while also providing a cost-effective service to the Transport Budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of the Company's fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring continuous roadworthiness and compliance.
Maintain and ensure compliance with the Company's Operator's Licence, striving for an acceptable green OCRS score.
Ensure adherence to Drivers Hours and Working Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
Register and download vehicle and drivers' cards in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
Properly inspect and maintain all vehicles and trailers, following manufacturers' and suppliers' guidelines.
Maintain insurance records, fleet records, and DVSA records for all changes to the fleet.
Champion FORS Fuel & Emissions initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
Conduct transport risk assessments, investigate transport accidents, and report near misses.
Manage fleet inspections, services, MOTs, and breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption and cost.Additional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Transport Manager to manage fleet headcount and resource allocation.
Oversee drivers' hours and WTD compliance, taking appropriate disciplinary action if necessary.
Keep the Operations Manager informed of any operational issues and fleet availability.Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role within the distribution industry is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of current legislation and regulations related to commercial vehicles and drivers.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Proficiency in using fleet management software/systems.
