Credit Controller
We are working on behalf of a well-established commercial and specialist cleaning company based in London, which has been providing contract cleaning services since 1975. With a strong reputation for staff retention and customer-focused service, the company is proud of its long-standing team, some of whom have been with the organization for over 20 years. Their commitment to understanding and delivering clients' cleaning needs, alongside their environmental focus, supports sustainability and corporate social responsibility targets.
They are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team. This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home. The office is conveniently located near Hammersmith train station, with parking available on site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a monthly ledger of approximately £1.5m across 400 accounts.
* Proactively manage and collect debts from company debtors.
* Evaluate new credit requests and review customers’ credit ratings.
* Set up terms and conditions of credit.
* Ensure timely payments of debts and reduce aged debt.
* Follow up on payments as necessary and negotiate repayment plans.
* Respond to client inquiries and reconcile sales ledgers.
* Check and post receipts to accounting systems.
* Prepare statements, client status reports, and other relevant financial information.
* Manage the sales ledger and work with Creditsafe.
* Provide administrative support to the team.
Ideal Candidate:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a sole charge credit control role.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
* Highly organized, efficient, and able to prioritize tasks as needed.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Xero Accounting Software. Familiarity with Team Software (formerly Templa) is desirable but not essential.
* Strong relationship management skills with both external clients and internal colleagues.
* Professional, confident, and diplomatic when liaising with others.
* CICM qualification is a plus.
Package:
* Salary up to £35K per annum.
* 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
* Hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 day from home).
