Senior Electrical Design Engineer - IEC 62368/61010 - Low Voltage DC Power - Low & Medium Voltage AC Power Systems

Very hands on role, looking for a decision maker and someone who has done complex cable/electrical design.

3 days per week on-site in Fareham. BPSS clearance required.

Experience:

An established electrical design engineer, who has extensive experience across a range of projects in accordance with a variety of compliance standards. Experience of designing AC and DC systems for a variety of markets including complex markets with strict standard such as defence. Has previous been a design authority on as significant project and actively works to develop organisational capability.

Desirable experience:

Low voltage DC power and communication circuits.

Low and Medium voltage AC power systems.

Electrical safety assessment against IEC 62368.

Skill set:

Use of best practices for the design of electrical hardware solutions from concept to production.

Including:

Ability to translate customers' requirements from a statement of work into designs that satisfy the requirements specification.

Experience in design for manufacture and testing.

Ability to simulate, prototype, conduct experiments, analyse and interpret test data.

Ability to generate and review relevant design documentation.

Component selection and bill of material creation.

Experience with electrical drawing software, preferably SolidWorks Electrical or similar.

Desirable experience of working with:

BS EN Standards such as 62368 and 61010 (Safety) and Military specs (Def-Stan).

EMC and regulatory requirements (CE/UKCA).

ISO 9001 standard or a professional and process driven methodology.

RF design.
