PM2CM is seeking a proactive Associate Project Manager to join our team, working with public utility companies. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a keen eye for problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with matrixed teams. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring project objectives are met, and adhering to regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive Execution: Achieve results through individual efforts and collaboration with matrixed teams.
Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify problems and develop solutions; contribute to project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
Conflict Management: Resolve issues and conflicts among team members, escalating complex issues to the Project Manager as needed; ensure task completion by clarifying priorities.
Analytical Evaluation: Evaluate, analyze, and communicate facts, practices, and policies to team members.
Presentation Preparation: Create presentations for internal and external contacts.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about utility regulatory processes and compliance regulations.
Independent Judgment: Use discretion to advise and recommend actions on moderately complex projects in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Advanced Project Management: Apply in-depth knowledge of project management principles to support project needs.
Communication and Coordination: Actively address project team needs, send reminders, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with PMs, department management, outside agencies, internal stakeholders, and project teams.
Meeting Management: Recognize and act on verbal cues in meetings, such as action items and requests.
Technical Proficiency: Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) effectively.
Specialized Knowledge: Be knowledgeable in SAP and Primavera P6, with advanced Excel skills for data manipulation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. A bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering/project management discipline is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years of project support experience and five years of experience in project management functions are required. Experience in the utility sector, particularly in substation/transmission line projects, is preferred.
Regulatory Experience: Familiarity with utility regulatory processes is advantageous.
Preferred skills:
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Primavera P6, and Excel.
Project Management: Strong project management support principles and proactive problem-solving abilities.
