Vantage develops next generation micro drones that impact national security, inspect critical infrastructure, and save lives. We are looking to hire a seasoned engineer to lead electrical development on multiple key programs. You should relish working in a fast paced environment on exceptionally challenging projects. You will work with ME, SW/FW engineers, verification teams, factory test teams, and program managers to deliver products that advance state of the art. You will define, architect, implement, and validate electrical designs that ship to customers including first responders, government agencies, and major power companies.
Requirements
Architect electronics used in our gimbals, drones, and ground control stations
Lead design of key PCBAs from concept through production
Identify new components and technologies to advance state of the art
Design PCBAs, perform trade off studies, circuit design and analysis, design reviews, schematic capture, component selection, circuit board stack-up design, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and write documentation
Collaborate with mechanical, software, test, compliance/regulatory teams to create successful integrated designs
Control and coordinate activities with external SMT houses and final production processes for electronic products, including RF products
Ensure power & signal integrity of image sensor and display interfaces
Support integration of complex computing modules into drones and ground control station
Design and execute electrical validation test plans
Support EMC, functional safety, and worst case circuit analysis tasks
Support DFM effort with internal and external partners
Collaborate with control manufacturer to transition designs to high volume production
Root cause analysis of failed PCBAs from production and RMAs
Skills and Qualifications
Track record of achieving the impossible very quickly
Passion for making seriously awesome flying robots
7+ years of experience in electronics development across full product life cycles, concept to production and release to market
Expertise at designing highly miniaturized product with multiple radio systems closely packed
Hands on expertise in ecad tool like Altium for PCBs – schematic capture, Layout and gerber out
Excellent debugging skills, usage of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers etc.
Experience defining board circuit specifications, designing PCBAs or guiding, selecting components, reviewing signal/power integrity simulations
Familiarity with motor and actuator control systems is a plus
Expertise designing complex high speed PCB designs including impedance matching
C, C++, and embedded firmware design skills is a big plus
Experience with low EMI design and shielding/mitigation techniques
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
