Electrical Controls Technician
Location: Charleston, SC
The position is on a DuPont work schedule (rotating shifts, 14-15 days off per month, and 7 consecutive days off monthly). Overtime pay is time and a half.
Our client, a leading producer of specialty flat-rolled products, seeks a team-oriented Electrical Controls Technician. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity through continuous improvement and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on low/medium voltage motor control systems and Siemens/Rockwell drive systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment using PLC interfaces.
Assist in installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and contribute to safety and operational procedure development.
Requirements
Requirements:
Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, military-equivalent electronics training, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
Strong physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
Experience with NFPA 70E/NEC safety standards and the ability to read electronic/electrical drawings.
Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
Preferred:
3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with controls automation, electrical/mechanical repairs, and PLC interfaces.
Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and systematic troubleshooting.
