Job Description

The CORE Power Team is seeking an enthusiastic Principle Applications Engineer who will be responsible for the development and qualification of high-performance DC-DC power converter products as well as working with FAEs and external customers to bring these products into production. Renesas’ advanced control architectures allow a challenging arena for Strong Engineers.  The job entails working with cross-functional groups to continually push the envelope of technology implemented in Renesas products.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will participate in the entire product development cycle of power management ICs, such as Buck Regulators, Boost and Buck-Boost Architectures, PMICS, and multi-phase regulators.  Primary responsibilities will include:

Contribute/own product-level definition of innovative and differentiated products.

Product Validation and Characterization

Technical Documentation (e.g. datasheet, application note, and design guidelines)

Setup and execute Simplis simulations of power converter circuits and systems

Training of Field Applications Engineers as well as customer engineers.

Customer Support, including offsite support at customer facilities

System Level Testing and Characterization

Work closely with local and remote teams (FAEs, design/test/product/reliability engineering and marketing) to perform the tasks listed above.

In addition, this role should also be able to influence Design Architecture development

Up to 15% travel is required as needed.
