Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC Design Engineer)
Location: Burton-upon-Trent (occasional site visits)
Salary: £45,000 per year + Car allowance
Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Join a leading FM provider in the UK, where you will work within a dynamic team to deliver innovative HVAC solutions for a wide range of industrial and commercial clients. This is a key role within our design team, offering the chance to collaborate with clients, project managers, and estimators, ensuring we deliver optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop efficient HVAC systems for industrial and commercial premises, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with client requirements.

* Perform design calculations, including load assessments, duct sizing, equipment selection, and pipework layouts.

* Conduct site surveys as needed to assess project feasibility and gather design information.

* Provide technical support to the project team throughout all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial design to final installation.

* Assist the estimating team by sourcing and vetting quotations from suppliers, ensuring compliance with the employer’s requirements and specifications.

* Stay updated with the latest industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies to ensure designs are compliant and cutting-edge.

* Review and critique external design submissions for accuracy, compliance, and performance.

* Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other building services.

Qualifications:

* Proficient in using CAD and Revit for HVAC design.

* Experience with HVAC software and system design tools.

* Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE) is advantageous but not essential.

Skills:

* Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Strong understanding of building regulations and industry standards.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen analytical mind.

* Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.

* Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a project team.
