Qualified individuals will have previous experience in Mechanical design engineering. This individual will work independently and perform activities associated with the Standard Design Process (SDP).
Job Overview:
Individuals will support capital modification implementation and turnover, including outage or emergent modifications. This individual will manage engineering vendor activities, including developing specifications, statements of work, bid evaluations, owner acceptance reviews, and coordinate engineering vendors onsite. Knowledge of regulatory, industry standards and codes and the 10 CFR 50.59 process will be essential for this role. Experience with drafting, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, ISI/IST, ASME Section II, VIII, and XI, ADL Pipe (or similar), and pipe stress analysis is preferred but not required.
Job Description:
Responsible for preparing Design Change Packages in accordance with the Standard Design Change process, utilized unilaterally across the US Nuclear fleet.
Additional engineering activities include supporting project implementation, development of test plans, performing Applicability Determinations, and 50.59 Screening.
Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations.
Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.
Responsible for advanced engineering tasks that require broad nuclear plant engineering experience and application of engineering principles.
Works independently with broad supervisory review and has a wide latitude to exercise judgment and make decisions. Independently performs highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.
Can effectively communicate and perform the lead role in a group situation to resolve problems or coordinate design production.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
PE preferred, may substitute for BS degree.
Minimum of eight (8) years of engineering or related experience or a minimum of one (1) year as an Engineer I required.
