Caretaker Assistant

* School based position

We are looking for a temporary caretaker to support our site team initially for approximately 3-6 months, which could continue beyond that.

Shift times will be 6am - 2.15pm or 10.15am - 6.30pm and some overtime during the evenings / weekends. Shifts can be flexible

Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week, Full Time
PURPOSE OF POST:

* To assist in maintaining high standards of site supervision and effective use of resources to enhance the learning environment for students and staff.

* To help ensure the general provision of a safe, clean, warm and secure environment for all siteusers and authorised visitors. This will involve liaison with all staff and external contractors.

* The postholder is expected to be available to open and close the school at evenings and weekends when necessary for school events or lettings.

Responsibilities

1. Carry out site security procedures as required by the Facilities Manager. Unlocking and locking the school outside normal working hours to cover both lettings and school events

2. To assist in health and safety checks on a daily basis and report defects/dangers to Facilities Manager. To assist in making area/item safe and warning others of any potential risk, also notify pest and vermin to the Facilities Manager

3. Assist with general maintenance of premises including buildings, fixtures and fittings,furniture, curtains, blinds, plumbing, general carpentry and electrics according to expertise

4. To undertake repairs commensurate with experience ensuring safely and
competently carried out
