Responsibilities:

The Yoga Instructor facilitates individual and group sessions to instruct various stretching poses, practice meditation, and promote mindfulness in addition to overall wellbeing, while maintaining physical and emotional safety of our clients.

Essential Duties:

Collaborate with Director of Operations or designee to identify and incorporate yoga activities for clients.

Interact with milieu and encourage participation in sessions.

Facilitate individual and group sessions as assigned.

Provide knowledge of the history, philosophy, and ethics of yoga.

Demonstrate practice and techniques and safely guide clients.

Visually assess clients to determine their level of practice.

Communicate with clinicians and direct care staff as needed.

Provide weekly progress updates to treatment team as needed.

Complete documentation timely and according to established standards.

Qualifications:

A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience as a Certified Yoga Instructor.

Experience working with adolescents, preferably in a residential treatment center preferred.

Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment preferred.

A passion for health and wellness, coupled with knowledge of the anatomy of the human body and physiology.

Knowledgeable in the implementation of the chakra system and mindful meditation.

Must have strong working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

Possesses a working knowledge and understanding of substance abuse, addictions, recovery, and co-occurring disorders among adults.

Knowledge of the addiction recovery community, mental health treatment, and the 12-Step tradition is essential.
