Overview:

Why We Need Your Talents:

Our valued hotel staff responds promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.

Responsibilities:

Where You'll Make an Impact:

Work alongside room attendants in emptying trash.

Collects soiled linen for laundering and receives linen supplies from floor shoots.

Pick up clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor laundry room.

Perform duties of room attendant when necessary.

Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.

Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms.

Deep cleaning of FOH and BOH areas to include; wall and ceiling washing, moving furniture and turning mattress.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes the floor.

Maintains housekeeping carts.

Deliver towels, cribs, cots, and other items to the guest rooms on request.

Sort linen, stock room attendant closets.

Remove soiled linen and trash from the poolside and other service areas and take to appropriate locations.

Report missing/found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.

Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.

Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

Ability to:

Effectively multitask.

Read, follow instructions, and understand visual aids.

Answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness

Always pay attention to the needs of guests.

Use a vacuum and carpet cleaner, buffer, ladder, and shop vac.

Knowledge of safety guidelines.

Strong attention to detail.

Welcoming and hospitable attitude.

Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Zero (0) to one (1) year of experience in cleaning public buildings and/or facilities.

Must be able to comply with all Maryland state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements:

Able to:

Communicate using a two-way radio with ear piece.

Clean smoking areas.

Push/lift up to 20 pounds.

Stand and/or walk up to 7 ½ hours per shift.

Stoop, crouch, and kneel.

Reach overhead with arms.

Ascend/descend stairs for at least 7 ½ hours per shift.

Work in a sometimes loud or disruptive work environment.

Require manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment
