Overview:

Presbyterian Homes & Services’ Management Services division is seeking a full-time Senior Graphic Designer to join its Marketing team.

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the conceptualization, implementation and completion of graphic design solutions that align with PHS branding and marketing strategies in a manner that meets our marketing and operational objectives.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Senior Graphic Designer reports to the Creative Director. The Senior Graphic Designer works collaboratively with the PHS Creative Team, Marketing, Communications, PHS Management staff, community site leaders, functional directors of assigned areas of accountability, and across all operational entities of PHS including Optage® and Senior Housing Partners (SHP).

Responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer will conceptualize, design and produce high-quality, creative solutions, by hand or using computer software, to meet our marketing and operational objectives.

Key areas of responsibility for this position include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate closely with marketing team to design a wide range of print and digital materials such as: brochures, posters, flyers, direct mail, booklets, advertisements, info graphics, promotional products, banners, displays, web and social media graphics, email marketing campaigns, and more.

Work with clients to understand needs and desired outcomes, and then work to ensure that project team members execute the vision within established deadlines. Effectively presents design concepts to client for feedback and approval.  

Development and implementation of marketing automation platform campaigns.

Coordinates the creation and implementation of printing/production with internal clients and outside vendors when necessary. Involved in selection of and direction for external partners including print vendors and photographers.

Fully integrate and uphold high brand standards cohesively across all media types and organization value streams by conceiving, creating, and managing all visual elements and assets for assigned projects.

Meet strategic, marketing objectives through the design and development of fresh, creative, and visually organized collateral for print and digital applications in a way that informs, inspires and engages our target markets. Ensure that the finished work delivers the intended messages based upon their knowledge of the client and its customers.

Uphold high PHS standards in design by organizing and leading creative assignments from conception to production, including comprehensive layouts for print collateral, digital media and brand development.

Synergize marketing department goals with organizational goals by promoting teamwork, effective relationships and cooperation with others, and actively participating in department and facility activities, meetings and processes. Assist fellow Creative Team members with the completion of their work when assigned or needed. Provide graphic design feedback to junior graphic designers as necessary.

Demonstrate excellence in graphic design, typography skills, and photo art direction. Stay current with the latest design, industry and technology trends and applies knowledge to applicable work.

Promote continuous development and growth. Exhibit technical competence in the field by being familiar with and ensuring compliance with regulations and established best practices. Maintain current knowledge of community resources and organization and industry policies and practices. Use discretion and independent judgment to compare and evaluate possible courses of action and decision-making.

Support the integration of Christian Culture in operations; reinforce the Christian heritage and culture through communication and education systems; support the spiritual programs; recognize the importance of spiritual matters to residents and employees.

Other areas as identified to support aligned goal setting and achievement as driven by the Creative Services Director.

Qualifications:

A 4-year college degree in graphic design and/or equivalent experience.

6-8+ years of professional experience in graphic design or related field.

Demonstrates excellence in graphic design, strategic problem solving and application of art direction through a strong, professional portfolio that includes both print and digital samples.

Interpersonal savvy with effective visual and verbal presentation skills.

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Must be a team player, willing to take direction and accept responsibility for meeting specified objectives.

Must be able to manage, prioritize, and drive results for multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and professional acumen.

Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in design, web and multimedia software and applications in PC and/or Mac operating systems including: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher).

Knowledge of printing procedures, photography, illustration and verbal and written communication.

Knowledge of print, digital and social media design principles and practices.

Video production skills are a plus (Adobe Premiere and After Effects).

Demonstrates ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
