Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of the Diet Control Assistant position is to provide infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with quality Food & Nutrition services, operational information; and serves as the liaison between the patient care unit(s) and the Department of Food & Nutrition. Delivers all meals/food items to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in designated patient care unit(s) within specified time frames. Performs in a caring, conscientious and confidential manner toward patients, family members, visitors, colleagues, staff and students. Maintains individual patient care electronic Card files and coordinates interdepartmental communications.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. At least one (1) or more years of Food Service, Customer Service, and/or hospitality experience required. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position required. Act as a liaison between the patient unit(s) and the Department of Food and Nutrition. Effective verbal and written communications. Customer service and hospitality- oriented. Attention to detail with appropriate follow through. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to establish effective relationships in multi-cultural environment. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet standards and time demands.
