Overview:
The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks to fabricate, repair, and maintain metal structures and equipment used in waste management operations.
Responsibilities:
Execute welding tasks on metal components, including structural steel, pipes, and equipment
Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
Repair damaged or worn equipment to restore its functionality and prolong its service life on and off site.
Inspect welds and finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding activities, repairs, and material usage.
Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or operational concerns to the supervisor or manager.
Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and managers to coordinate welding activities and support operational goals.
Qualifications:
Required education and experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Certification or relevant vocational training in welding
Preferred education and experience
1 year of welding experience.
Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
Waste industry experience
Work environment and hours
Shift may vary Monday- Saturday
40+ hours a week
Work sites with dust and debris
