What You'll Do::

The Lead Facilities Construction Technician’s responsibilities primarily focus on completing facilities construction projects in a timely and effective manner and providing oversight and guidance to projects to Facilities Construction Technicians.  The areas of expertise for the position may include carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or HVAC systems. Responsibilities include:

Responsible for providing oversight to facilities construction technicians for BRH projects as directed by the BRH Director of Facilities.

Reviews project plans, drawings, and specifications, and makes recommendations.

Assists with creating and managing schedules, monitoring attendance, and assigning tasks to facilities construction technicians.

Ensures that all safety rules are followed, and that facilities construction technicians. Wear the proper safety gear.

Ensures that construction projects meet expected quality standards.

Relays messages from BRH Director Facilities, providing instructions, and communicating changes to the facilities construction technicians.

Identifies problems and opportunities, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Prepares reports on progress for BRH Director of Facilities, as indicated.

Trains incoming facilities construction technicians and assists in monitoring construction subcontractor performance, as directed by the BRH Director of Facilities.

Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For::

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid North Carolina driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance.

2+ years of experience in construction projects.

Knowledge, skills, and experience working with carpentry, plumbing and construction tools and equipment.

Knowledge of OSHA, federal and state safety regulations for construction projects.

Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Must be able to read and generate written communication and documentation.

Ability to communicate any real or potential construction project problems to Director of Facilities and appropriate risk management staff.

Maintains a professional appearance and exhibits professionalism in all interactions.

Active participant in the BRH Risk Management program, as directed by the Director of Facilities.
