Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer II

Location: Floating between Mesquite, Rockwall, and Rowlett, TX

Work Schedule:

Shift: 8-hour days

Days Per Week: 5

Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Start Time: 07:00 AM

Shift End Time: 03:00 PM

Compensation:

Minimum Rate Per Hour: $33

Maximum Rate Per Hour: $48

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Sonographer II to join our team, floating between Mesquite, Rockwall, and Rowlett, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures, assisting in complex procedures, and working closely with healthcare providers to deliver exceptional patient care.

Essential Functions:

Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history, including cardiac-related findings and laboratory data, to tailor imaging techniques for accurate and comprehensive echocardiograms.

Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques, ensuring high-quality results.

Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, adjust the examination scope as necessary, and correlate findings with other cardiac diagnostic tests.

Assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing echocardiographic studies during complex procedures.

Conduct transesophageal studies with cardiologists, calculate measurements, and sterilize equipment as required.

Maintain daily records and perform routine maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab, reporting equipment malfunctions promptly.

Serve as a resource for other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment use, techniques, procedures, and studies.

Collaborate with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to adhere to quality protocols and assist with ICAEL accreditation activities.

Implement new protocols and ensure compliance with system echocardiography standards as technology evolves.

Key Success Factors:

Proficient in applying complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques.

Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.

Ability to explain echocardiographic procedures to patients and answer their questions.

Knowledge of clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.

Familiarity with infection control procedures and patient confidentiality laws.

Effective communication skills with healthcare providers.

Skilled in using computers and medical equipment.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of work experience beyond the minimum qualifications.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Must have one of the following certifications at the time of hire/transfer:

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardio Credentialing Intl. (CCI).

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
