Title: Contracts Manager ? Audit & Assurance

Salary: £52,962

Location: Beeston, NG9 1LA

This role

The Audit and Assurance team within Compliance and Technical Services is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance to the Property Senior Leadership team that all activities carried out by the department have adequate internal controls and safeguards to ensure risk is managed effectively. This covers a range of workstreams including heating and water safety, mechanical and electrical safety, and fire and asbestos safety.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Audit and Assurance Manager to lead a newly formed Audit and Assurance Team reporting into the Head of Compliance ? Audit and Assurance. This role will oversee the internal audit of the Compliance and Technical Services Department and be a key liaison and facilitator for external auditors.

As data plays the most critical part in a social landlord demonstrating our compliance position and ultimately underpinning the assurance of safety to our colleagues, board and most importantly our customers, this role will also be responsible for managing the Performance and Data Analysis Team, who in turn are responsible for the data integrity in the Compliance and Technical Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit

Ensure a suitably rigorous internal audit programme is in place for the Compliance and Technical Services Department
Provide feedback from internal audits to relevant teams
Provide audit reports to Head of Compliance
Promote the role of the internal audit team throughout the Compliance and Technical Services Department and wider Property Directorate to promote a culture of openness, innovation and performance
Performance & Data Analysis

Oversee the Performance and Data Analysis Team, ensuring that data is managed and maintained in a consistent and robust manner

Ensure that data is scrutinised to ensure that key variables are monitored and reported
Oversee the development and implementation of an effective reporting framework
Support the Head of Energy, Assurance & Audit to embed a monthly reporting cycle and develop operating rhythm aligned to the statutory, financial and operational reporting needs of key internal and external stakeholders in relation to compliance activities

External Audit

Be the central point of liaison for Compliance and Technical Services for external auditors, ensuring timely and sufficient supply of data and documentation from the various teams as required
Ensure recommendations are shared with the relevant teams and provide advice on their implementation
Ensure policies and procedures are up to date following the implementation of recommendations raised from external audits.

A great communicator
Strong attention to detail
Passionate about service improvement
A natural leader who can harmonise a team of varying disciplines
Good working knowledge of landlords obligations and compliance regulations
Must have proven and previous experience in internal audit methodology and quality control
Experience encouraging a team environment that promotes collaboration and constructive challenge and has demonstrated the ability to act quickly to resolve team issues and questions
Strong project management skills and experience managing an audit from planning to completion
Experience of managing large complex data sets and subsequent reporting
Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies within a Property Services environment would be beneficial
