Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse

Salary/Hourly Rate: £18.50 - £28.85 per hour

LeviCare is seeking enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our team in the Bradford and surrounding areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide optimal comfort to vulnerable patients for the best possible care
• Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining patients' records
• Interact with patients during treatment, building relationships to determine their preferences
• Administer medication and treatments
• Monitor patients' conditions to ensure they follow the treatment plan prescribed by a doctor
• Handle specific symptoms that can accompany mental health conditions, such as behavioral issues and personality changes
• De-escalate challenging situations for patients to maintain a protective environment
• Manage patient records to ensure good organization
• Host group or one-on-one therapy sessions
• Communicate with patients' families about treatment progress, diagnoses, and recovery plans
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists to fulfill patient treatment plans

Requirements:

• NMC pin registration with no outstanding matters pending
• Minimum of 1 year experience within an NHS setting post-registration
• Right to work and live in the UK
• Enhanced DBS (support provided if not registered on the update service)

Qualification:

• Must have a nursing degree

Skills:

• Excellent observational skills to access patients, administer medication, and lookout for triggers of risk behaviors
• Good standard of English
• Good organisational and time management skills to effectively update caseloads
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to support people with varying levels of understanding
• Good psychological, medical, and legal knowledge
• Must be physically fit
• Ability to stay calm and think quickly in challenging circumstances
• Good decision-making skills and knowledge of mental health first aid for responding appropriately to patients during a mental health crisis
