ajor Recruitment are looking for factory Butchers (experienced and trainee) to join our highly successful client in Malton a permanent basis. Our client, based in Cookstown, is a leading food company with a diverse range of meat and seafood products that delight consumers worldwide.

They are seeking talented and passionate individuals to join their team of over 13,000 employees across 44 sites in Canada, Europe, and the UK. With a rich 25-year history, our client produces over 500 million meals annually and is one of Canada's largest food companies. As a top manufacturer of protein products for retail and foodservice, our client offers a broad portfolio of branded and private-label items, including pork, beef, fish, turkey, and chicken.

In Coalville, you'll join a friendly team in the Butchery, where you'll debone pork legs to meet customer specifications. This role offers a chance to engage with high-quality products and contribute to a company known for its excellence and sustainability.

Duties include:

Supporting the Operations team to meet the customer requirements by deboning the required amount of legs required.
Ensuring we follow Health and Safety procedures
Ensuring we follow our Food Safety procedures
Roles may involve a large amount of manual handling.
Experience as a butcher or butchery qualification essential to the role.
Cutting and butchering of products to pre-set standards while comfortably keeping pace with the speed of the line.
Working as part of a team to meet production targets.
Identifying errors/faults and taking appropriate steps to rectify these.
Competently performing any other tasks for which training has been completed and signed off.
Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times (e.g. hand-washing, knife sterilising and kit wash-down)

Skills and Experience Required:

Previous experience of butchery work, preferably gained in a production environment is preferential although full training is provided.
Attention to detail/good observational skills.
Self motivation and reliability.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change, occasionally at short notice.
Must have own transport due to the location of the site.
