Purchasing Manager
Due to growth, a specialist automotive/motorsport manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Purchasing Manager to work from their Leicestershire headquarters. You will take responsibility for a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers to deliver a best-in-class purchasing function and ensure suppliers deliver high-quality parts and components that are delivered OTIF to enable Production targets to be met.
You will join an experienced team of around 15 purchasing professionals providing a world-class purchasing solution to the business. Very much involved in the front end of purchasing you will focus on sourcing new suppliers, supplier development, contracts, and negotiation with both new and existing suppliers. Once suppliers are set up and in place, another team will pick up the day-to-day running of these with you still acting as the supplier contact for any issues.

As the Purchasing Manager, you will support the Purchasing team in:
Supporting the company's growth by enabling profit through effective sourcing.
Reducing supplier lead time whilst ensuring they maintain the high standards expected.
Deliver a strategy for your category to ensure that both general production and new model manufacturing can be fulfilled.
Support the business in new product development but analysing trends within categories and commodities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities within your specific category.
To be successful as a Purchasing Manager you will have:
Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager, leading a team of Category Buyer, Senior Buyer or Project Buyers within a manufacturing business, ideally within the automotive/motorsport industry.
Experience in New Product Introduction.
Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
Far East sourcing.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Ability to work under pressure.
Purchased a range of materials, components, and parts.
Worked with a range of MER/ERP systems.
