Vision for Education are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant in a small primary school, in the Littleborough area of Rochdale. This role is open to all teaching assistants who have excellent active listening skills, as this will enhance the pupils social-emotional learning and promote inclusivity.

The role and school

This small primary school are looking for a compassionate and patient Teaching Assistant, supported by their ambitious KS2 team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a significant impact on the pupils’ personal and professional lives. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be required to support a Year 4 pupil, on a one-to-one basis. This pupil has ADHD and will require additional support to help them with addressing the challenges they face day in and day out. The school have observed that this pupil struggles to sit still, stay focussed on tasks and wait their turn In order to successfully help the pupil address these challenges, the SEN Teaching Assistant is expected to use good observational skills, provide individualised support and adapt their teaching or learning methods to meet the individual needs.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Have experience of working with primary aged children.
Meeting pupils needs as a whole and under the supervision of the class teacher.
Motivating and encouraging the pupils to stay on track and focussed.
Level 2 or above in a Teaching Assistant course.
