Charge for accommodation: 125.00 GBP per week (double room on an all inclusive basis)

Workplace description: This hotel is the ideal country retreat for both business and pleasure and is the perfect setting for any occasion. Set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, our dedicated and friendly staff will look after your every need and they will make sure your stay with us will be a memorable one. Comprising a 490-acre farm, a 29-bedroom country house hotel, the 2 Rosette restaurant and 9 function/conference rooms, this hotel also provides a unique and attractive year round location for the perfect wedding.
This is a full time permanent position, working within a small kitchen team at this beautiful location.
As Sous Chef you will be expected to be professional, and have a calm, positive manner, clean, organised, and an excellent communicator whilst having the skills to maintain standards to a high level & take full responsibility in the head chefs absence. You will have plenty of opportunity to put your thoughts and ideas onto the menu, utilising the daily specials board and the very best seasonal produce.
This position would suit an experienced Sous Chef looking for a fresh challenge but, would also suit a Senior Chef de partie /Jr Sous Chef with a solid background looking for more responsibility and career progression.
The Role
• Reporting to the Head Chef you will be part of a small brigade working in all areas of the kitchen .
• The business operates 7 days a week, although you can expect 2 days off a week (consecutive as often as possible) and a full weekend off each month.
• The kitchen opens for breakfast and lunch and afternoon tea. Aside from the occasional evening event you will mostly work daytime hours
• Food needs to be consistently perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, in a timely manner
The Person
• You will already be a Sous or Junior Sous wanting to step up
• Able to work unsupervised and develop junior team members
• Be passionate about working with the very best produce available
• Consistent attention to detail
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work with a smile
• Hard working
Essential requirements
• Previous experience in a similar environment is preferred
• Valid Level 2 food hygiene certificate
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work within a team
• Driven and self-motivated
• Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
• Punctual and reliable
