Streamline Recruitment are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to manage daily transport activities at our client's Newcastle site. This role involves executing delivery plans efficiently, optimizing fleet usage, and ensuring full compliance with legal requirements.
Key Duties:
* Serve as the primary contact for all daily transport operational issues.
* Monitor the performance of sub-contractor fleets, addressing any concerns as they arise.
* Track and document changes to delivery schedules, ensuring accuracy in the Delivery Plan.
* Manage customer inquiries, provide quotations, and maintain communication regarding delivery status.
* Approve driver payroll and validate sub-contractor expenses.
* Assist in finalizing job files by gathering required documentation, such as Proof of Delivery (POD).
* Review and evaluate routes and supplier options for cost-effective transport planning.
* Ensure adherence to legal requirements, including Working Time Directive (WTD) and tachograph regulations.
* Supply planners with a daily operations report detailing driver availability and vehicle status.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in transport operations or a similar role.
