Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will be aligned to work across various electrical systems, including HV, LV, DC, and generator systems, with voltages ranging from 400kV to 220VDC. Your primary responsibilities will involve supporting electrical commissioning activities for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project, ensuring all systems are safely and efficiently commissioned.

Key Responsibilities:

⚡️ Contribute to team meetings and liaise with designers and project managers for electrical deliverables
⚡️ Assist the Commissioning Manager/Engineer by developing commissioning documentation related to testing and system validation
⚡️ Participate in design reviews to ensure system layouts allow for efficient commissioning
⚡️ Take ownership of commissioning programmes and contribute to detailed planning
⚡️ Supervise contractor commissioning personnel to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems
⚡️ Analyse commissioning results and provide detailed reports
⚡️ Support compliance with nuclear, environmental, and industrial safety requirements, ensuring alignment with international safety and technical standards

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

🛠 Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
🛠 Relevant experience in the nuclear industry
🛠 Experience in producing design documentation and test specifications
🛠 Ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines and KPI requirements
🛠 Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately in English
🛠 Proactive in developing positive working relationships, particularly with remote teams in France and Germany
🛠 Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

✔️ Knowledge of EPR system design principles and nuclear safety classification
✔️ Experience with EPR projects, operating plants, or industrial sites
✔️ Familiarity with UK licensing requirements and its application within the HPC project
✔️ Knowledge of effluent treatment systems or other BNI systems' design
