We are seeking a talented Project Engineer for our client, for a full-time permanent role based in either Sunderland or Adlington. This role offers an attractive salary and benefits package working for an engineering and projects delivery business specialising in design, installation, project management and consultancy.
You will be managing the technical aspects of engineering projects, ensuring all tasks align with safety and legal requirements. Effective communication, team collaboration, a customer-focused mindset, adaptability, commitment to self-improvement, and efficient task delivery are crucial for success in this role.
Key responsibilities:
Managing scope, cost, and delivery of engineering projects
Coordinating with engineers, functional managers, and subcontractors
Acting as the primary technical liaison with customers
Interpreting client requirements and ensuring clear documentation
Overseeing the creation and maintenance of project specifications and data sheets
Conducting regular design gap analysis
Preparing detailed engineering design briefs and scope of work documents
Handling subcontract and major component procurement
Reviewing design outputs for compliance with project requirements
Addressing any engineering non-conformance or change requests
Participating in project reviews and presenting engineering elements
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and conducting risk assessments
Managing documentation for CE/UKCA marking
Essential qualifications:
Time served Apprenticeship or NVQ L3 (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering
Demonstrable experience in a similar role
Knowledge of change management and process controls
Ability to interpret customer specifications and standards
Experience in an engineering environment with technical writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
