Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced person in traffic management control room operations to be the Quality Control (QC) Manager in Miami, Florida at the SunGuide Transportation Management Center (TMC). The SunGuide TMC is a 24/7 operation responsible for traffic and incident management for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six. District Six covers Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. This position is responsible for monitoring the quality of traffic event data entered by TMC Control Room operations staff and its impact on project performance metrics.
The QC Manager should have comprehensive knowledge of other positions at the TMC such as the Construction Coordinator, Shift Supervisor and TMC Operator. The QC Manager is expected to perform the Shift Supervisor and Control Room Staff tasks efficiently. The QC Manager may need to perform TMC Operator tasks during peak times and when TMC Operators are on breaks and/or leave. The QC Manager’s responsibilities include:
Performing and managing the Quality Control of data in accordance with project procedures. This includes grading TMC Control Room staff recorded events, entering TMC Control Room staff errors into the OpQC software, and running reports on Control Room staff performance.
Monitoring and reporting adherence to the TMC Control Room Standard Operating Guidelines and Standard Employee Guidelines.
Providing support and supervision in the Control Room during shifts.
Supporting the training of new Control Room staff and keeping training material up-to date.
Coaching Control Room staff on areas needing improvement and recognizing when Control Room staff has made improvements.
Sharing “on-call” responsibilities (weekends and nights).
Support annual event audit review process.
Detecting improvements and/or enhancements with OTM/OpQC.
Recognizing SunGuide new features within the OpQC grading process in order to avoid delay of data.
Submitting processed events to facilitate monthly reports.
