1:1 Individual Needs Assistant (Reception)

Hours:

We are seeking a dedicated and gentle 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant to work with a Reception child who has just started school. The child has delayed speech and language development, and we are looking for someone with experience working with non-verbal children or those with speech and language delays. This is an exciting opportunity to help a child develop communication skills, using visual aids, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and other tailored strategies.

If you have experience in supporting speech and language development and a desire to make a positive impact, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a Reception child with delayed speech and language development.

Assist in developing the child’s communication skills, using visual aids and PECS.

Encourage language development through tailored activities and interventions.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.

Support the child in accessing the curriculum and building social interaction skills.

Provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for the child to thrive in.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

Experience working with children who are non-verbal or have delayed speech and language development.

Familiarity with using visual aids, PECS, and other communication strategies.

A DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

A patient, kind, and nurturing approach, with the ability to adapt to the child’s needs.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on collaboration with staff.

Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality policies.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference in a child’s early education and help them develop their communication skills, we’d love to hear from you!

Important Notice: For you to be successful in applying for the above position you should be eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa. Safeguarding, quality and integrity are at the heart of what we do. Pink Tile is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within education. During the application process, you will be required to:

Provide details for us to complete reference checks prior to employment.

Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one (which Pink Tile can assist with).

Pink Tile Education, their schools and candidates all share the view of "Best Fit, Every Time" and our role is to ensure that every candidate we place has a positive impact on the team of their new employers.

We have a policy, as a matter of courtesy, to respond to all applications within three working days. However, because of the volume of applications, we sometimes cannot reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time, your application may have been unsuccessful on this specific occasion, but we encourage you to apply for positions that you may see in the future. Alternatively, please check missed calls and all your email folders as it may have been that we have tried to reach you. Thank you
