Our client, a well-established machining business based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to lead a team of six highly skilled individuals. This is a hands-on leadership role that also forms part of the management team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Our client is in a great financial position, experiencing consistent growth and profitability.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the CNC team, overseeing work allocation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, precision components. This role requires a balance of strong technical expertise and the ability to guide, mentor, and manage a team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading a team of six CNC specialists, managing workloads and overseeing project delivery.
* Hands-on programming, particularly for complex aerospace and automotive components.
* Working with a range of machinery including Hurco and Brother.
* Proficiency in Fanuc and Heidenhain software systems.
* Reporting directly to the Managing Director and contributing to the wider management team.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Demonstrable experience in CNC programming
* Previous experience in a leadership or team management role within a CNC environment.
* A strong technical background, ideally within the aerospace or automotive sectors, with experience in producing complex components.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimise processes.
* Strong communication and organisational abilities.
