Company:
A principal contractor, UK and Middle East, (T/O c£20m) who provide a range of specialist design, installation and maintenance services for projects and facilities within the rail sector. Typical projects range in value from c£50k to c£4m.
The Role:
Working with the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for both post and pre-contract commercial duties typically under NEC4 (option A) and bespoke forms of contract.
Day to day duties and responsibilities also including but not limited to:
• Presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements.
• Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms.
• Submission of estimate / tendering information to the client.
• Presentation of final accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements.
• Presentation of weekly cost / value information, delivery schedules and associated key performance indicator (KPI) data.
• Preparation and presentation of monthly cost/value reconciliations and final cost/value forecasts.
• Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
• Procurement, negotiation and placing of sub-contract orders.
• Financial and commercial management of sub-contractors through to settlement of their final accounts.
• Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
• Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.
• Commercial support to the estimating and procurement teams.
• Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.
Requirements
You will have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering, construction or M&E environment. Experience within the rail sector would be beneficial but isn't essential.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (BSc/HNC/HND)
• Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke forms of contract
Salary & Benefits
• Competitive annual salary negotiable dependant on experience - £50k+
• Company Car or Car Allowance (c£6k)
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
