JM Workforce Services are currently working with a well-respected and emerging Children's Social Care provider based in Birmingham to recruit a Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker for an Ofsted rated GOOD home.
Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker to lead shifts and ensure the highest standards of care for children in a residential setting. The role involves planning and managing shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, and providing leadership and support to the care team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Plan, manage, and lead shifts, ensuring children are kept safe and engaged.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care at all times.
* Be flexible, consistent, reflective, and creative in your engagement with the young people.
* Conduct regular key working sessions with the young people.
* Sleep overnight at the home as required.
* Work flexibly, including office hours, early mornings, late nights, regular weekends, and bank holidays.
* Ensure shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers.
* Manage all risks in line with company policies and procedures.
* Communicate effectively with the team regarding daily plans.
* Provide reports and documentation reflecting the progress of the young people using paperless systems.
* Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation.
* Undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package.
* Attend staff meetings and proactively develop and improve the service model.
* Act as an advocate for the young people while using a positive parenting model.
* Work with young people using positive support strategies, including de-escalation tools and techniques taught through in-house training (PRICE).
Job Requirements:
* Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (Essential)
* Full UK Driving License
* Clean DBS
* Commitment to ongoing professional development to support the needs of our young people.
* Clear passion and desire to support children and young people.
* Active member of a progressive and committed team.
