We are working alongside a fantastic school based in Reading to find passionate individuals to join their team as a Student Mental Health Assistant in October 2024. The school provides education and support to students aged 5-19 years old who are not able to access mainstream education.
The school are looking for a Student Mental Health Assistant to provide the students with consistent guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential. The students at the school hugely benefit from concentrated assistance throughout the school day, so a majority of the Student Mental Health Assistant's role is performed on a 1-1 basis.
The Student Mental Health Assistant's main responsibilities will be:
Providing a safe space for students to express themselves
Helping students maintain focus on tasks at hand
Assisting in therapeutic interventions
Helping students develop social communication skills
Collaborating with class teachers to tailor education health care plans The Student Mental Health Assistant will benefit from:
