Payroll Administrator

We are seeking a self-motivated Payroll Administrator with strong attention to detail and good IT skills to be responsible for ensuring all payroll procedures are completed accurately on a timely basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of monthly payroll of approximately 1,500 employees
  • Collect, compile and prepare payroll data for processing to Fourth
  • Process and check payroll by established deadlines/process BACS payments
  • Cross referencing of data entered by the HR Team
  • 3rd party form completions ie Child Support Agency & Department for Work and Pensions
  • Review and verify source documentation ie sick notes and P45's
  • Liaison with Civil Recovery Solutions for debt recovery and administration of overpayments
  • Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
  • Provide support and technical advice relating to payroll and pensions
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for relevant departments
  • Prepare nominal ledger reports/cost pivots for Finance team
  • Pension administration of the company pension schemes, auto enrolment and RTI
  • Assisting with Year End and the processing of P11D's
  • First line communication with Fourth to ensure payroll queries are resolved within the specified SLA
  • Report on historical data that HR or external agencies may need in relation to employees or HR data ranging from ER cases to TUPE leavers
  • To oversee payroll department in the absence of the Payroll Manager
  • Adhoc project work
  • Adhoc duties as and when required for the needs of the business.

Key Skills Required:

  • Experience of processing different payroll frequencies for a large multi-sited business within the hospitality, retail or service sectors
  • CIPP qualified or working towards
  • To be self-motivated with strong attention to detail, whilst demonstrating the ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, good knowledge of Excel is important (data manipulation - pivots tables and v lookups etc.) and knowledge of the Fourth People system.
