Job Description:

Position: Chemical Operator 

Primary Location: Odem, TX, USA

Shift: Monday to Friday – 40 hours – Overtime

Reports To: Operations Manager 

Compensation: $20.55 + benefits

The US hourly rate for this position is $20.55 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

About The Position and About You

Support the plant by completing all required ACP operator duties and responsibilities, including development of the process and final product.

Qualifications

Knowledge

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of experience working in chemical manufacturing or manufacturing/production.

Experience working with forklifts preferred.

Competencies 

Ability to demonstrate experience using Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems and email.

Aptitude for mechanics.

Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.

Ability to lift 50lbs or more.

Responsibilities

Perform chemical synthesis and blending operations according to Chemtrade Standards and Operating Procedures:

Perform chemical product manufacturing operations in safe and effective manner.

Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and inputting into database.

Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.

Help develop and operate plant equipment using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Handle, transport, and process chemicals safely.

Make batch corrections.

Document plant processes and record production data.

Operation of truck and trailer opening and unloading of product, operation of pumps, piping, and valves.

Troubleshoot equipment/operational problems and operating plant equipment as needed

Plant inventory record keeping.

Operation of the following mobile equipment: forklifts, skid steer and other mobile equipment.

Daily plant upkeep and daily maintenance. Ability to perform daily housekeeping duties

Rectify equipment or process malfunctions as necessary

Perform general laboratory analysis and calculations required to manufacture products and blends

Make Alum and ACP batches:Process and manage batches to final destination.

Clean filters and other process equipment as needed.

Move and offload raw material (including alum mud trucks) as needed to support production.

Assist other operators when needed in other areas.
