Scope of Position:
Scope of Job: The Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day management of financial transactions and record-keeping, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, registrations, and tax filings. This individual will also be the primary contact for financial and insurance audits. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Finance, they will oversee treasury and insurance responsibilities. Additionally, the Controller will lead the accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
Working Conditions: Time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Occasional time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites, making bank deposit, meetings at other corporate offices, or attending various conferences and meetings.
Responsibilities:

Oversee the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and preparation of monthly financial reporting package.
Review weekly disbursements and manage cash needs.
Maintain internal control processes and accounting systems.
Act as an accounting administrator on Project Management software.
Timely reconciliation of all income statement and balance sheet accounts.
Coordinate periodic bank and external audits.
Manage insurance certificates being provided to our customers, respond to insurance inquires on an as needed basis, manage the quarterly reporting for our builder’s risk insurance policy.
Maintain monthly job cost reports and percentage-of-completion calculations and worksheets.
Manage local, state, and federal tax compliance for parent company and subsidiaries.
Provide support and review of bi-weekly payroll processing.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervision of Others: Provide direction to, manage, supervise, and resolve problems among departmental accounting staff.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience –
Typically requires:
Minimum 5 years’ Controller experience
Bachelor’s degree
CPA preferred
Construction accounting experienced preferred
Complete understanding of GAAP accounting
Proven experience with ERP system data entry, reports, and analysis related to GAAP accounting and all major types of company transactions
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities –
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
