Gannett Fleming is searching for a highly motivated Project Manager to join our Roadway Engineering team. In this role, you will take on a leadership position in delivering critical infrastructure projects that improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of roadways, positively impacting both local communities and the broader transportation network.
By overseeing design teams and collaborating with clients and stakeholders, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping infrastructure that supports safe and accessible travel for years to come. Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and drainage projects in accordance with TxDOT and/or AASHTO standards
Oversee the work of technicians in preparing design plans
Develop design elements, including:
Horizontal and vertical geometry
Roadway sections and intersection layouts
Sight distance determination and interchange layouts
Signing and pavement marking plans
Traffic control plans
Roadway drainage and temporary erosion control
Right of way plans
Prepare and oversee the preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates
Assist in managing larger projects or lead smaller projects, including:
Preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets
Day-to-day communication with clients
Supporting and advising EITs and technical staff
Acting as an advisor to senior management on engineering-related matters
Writing reports, technical memos, and meeting minutes
Coordinating with sub-consultants
Provide seal and signature as a licensed professional engineer, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances
Preference for candidates with experience working on TxDOT Design Projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
Texas P.E.
10+ years’ experience having performed geometric design of roadways, preparing plans and specifications, and computing quantities and design construction estimates.
Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with AASHTO Green Book, TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, TxDOT Roadside Design Guide, TxDOT Hydraulic Manual, and Texas MUTCD
Successful candidate must be capable of acting as a supervisory engineer or deputy to Project Manager and work independently with minimal guidance.
