▶ About This Opportunity

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager, IT Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for enforcing and evangelizing project and program governance to reduce risks to 7-Eleven, leveraging generally accepted project management principles and tools. In addition to collaborating with the IT project managers and teams, the Senior Manager of IT PMO will engage with the Corporate PMO, executive stakeholders and other key organizational leaders across the enterprise to drive and

ensure consistent project delivery processes and alignment of project management technology use. The Senior Manager will develop/enhance project management standards and evaluate project teams against those standards while driving continuous improvement. The individual will be accountable for the analysis of project status updates submitted by IT Project Managers, including but not limited to progress against timelines, risk mitigations, and issue resolutions as well as ensuring the status updates are executive-ready. The Senior Manager, IT PMO is also responsible

for leading a team of one or more program governance managers.

Responsibilities may also include managing one or more 7-Eleven IT strategic projects, programs and/or initiatives as assigned. This individual must be able to utilize project team feedback to extract work breakdown structures, determine appropriate task durations & dependencies, and construct detailed timelines and use to manage and drive initiatives.

The ideal candidate must be able to work with project participants and stakeholders to flush out and manage risks, action items, issues, and decisions in order to mitigate negative impacts to project scope, timeline, and cost. The individual must have exceptional project/program management skills, technical acumen, and ability to interact/influence teams outside of IT including 3rd parties. The Sr. Manager, IT PMO will initially report to the Sr.Director, IT Compliance, PMO, and SRM and ultimately report directly to the Director of Process Automation & IT PMO.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Evaluates improvement opportunities in the execution of projects and makes solid subsequent recommendations, escalating obstacles where appropriate.

• Manages and trains other project management professionals in 7-Eleven’s project management discipline.

• Maintains strong customer focus while coordinating and collaborating with IT resources by using effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Uses a keen eye to review project artifacts and recognizes symptoms of project management execution shortfalls.

• Proactively exercises initiative in identifying, tracking, and removing impediments to success of programs.

• Understands how individual projects affect the portfolio of IT initiatives and exercises judgment in raising issues and risks to the executives.

• Utilizes negotiation skills to influence and creatively achieve successful outcomes from project managers in the management of scope, schedule, budget, issues/risks, and resources.

• Reviews project portfolio roadmaps/schedules for upstream and downstream dependencies.

• Coordinates with IT Project Managers to ensure proper project documentation is in place.

• Provides leadership to IT project teams, fosters a positive team environment, and provides direction in ambiguous situations.

• Arbitrates and resolves conflicts with IT Project Managers when necessary. Understands and utilizes appropriate paths and methods for escalation.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 10+ years

YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 3+ years

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: PMP required

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Strong practical experience in project management gained through managing large and complex projects and programs

• Strong knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques

• Good ability to assertain the wider objectives of projects and programs

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management

• Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures

• The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills

• Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, and other relevant software

• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Project Management software/Smarsheet

• 10 years' experience in project management

• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, multi-tasking environment

• Proven ability to interact with various levels of management and other associates
