Position Summary:
Provides appropriate leadership and supervision 24/7 for assigned nursing unit(s). Promotes an environment in which staff can work effectively and cooperatively. Communicates appropriate departmental as well as hospital and hospital information to staff through monthly department staff meetings, sharing administration memos when appropriate, inter-office memos/communications, etc. Coordinates and monitors the educational activities and competencies of all employees in the unit(s) by planning staff education and teaching, and monitoring the attendance at unit meetings, C.E. and in-service programs. Coordinates the orientation of new staff including the assignment of preceptor and completion of orientation booklet and provides training to present staff to ensure personal development as well as compliance with various regulatory guidelines. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required
Experience: Previous Operating Room experience required
License: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri.
