LEARN Academy/Creative Learning Center (), is a state-certified, K-12 private day school in California for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurological disorders.  Our comprehensive services — available across the South Bay, Peninsula, and San Francisco Bay Area — are designed to meet the unique needs of the whole student. We are a division of the LEARN Academy, a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and behavioral services for autism. 

Responsibilities:

LEARN Academy/Creative Learning Center is a certified NPA and in network with insurance companies enabling us to service students privately in our clinical setting with Behavioral ABA, SLP, OT, and Social Skills Development. The SLPA position requires working in a 1:1 setting and small group settings with children with Autism and other similar disorders. Sessions take place in a 1:1 clinic setting, and in our inclusion preschool.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Provide direct service delivery as indicated by child’s IEP and/or Treatment Plan under direction of supervising SLP 

Complete related service procedures: treatment planning, record keeping, and progress monitoring 

Develop supplementary documents and/or materials relevant to treatment goals and implementation 

Communicate pro-actively and effectively with SLP supervisor regarding progress and/or concerns 

Communicate effectively with instructional staff regarding learners’ strengths and needs following direction by supervising SLP 

Participate in intra- and inter-disciplinary professional development (meetings, in-services, etc.)   

Maintain cleanliness and integrity of therapy materials and school environment 

Communicate concerns to SLP Supervisor 

Learn Academy/Creative Learning Center is looking for an outstanding Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to work with children in a clinic setting and become a valuable member of our national team of special education providers!

Qualifications:

Associate’s in speech-language pathology assistant 

Current CA SLPA Licensure 

Experience working with children preferred 

Ability to work independently 

Ability to use initiative in taking the first steps or to act without being urged to complete projects and/or work
